Google maps and privacy on Swiss Alps

December 27, 2006

I found in Google Maps the place we’ve been skiing today: Engelberg, near Luzern, on Swiss Alps. I was quite shocked to see that, using the new special option zoom-to-your-own-ski (I was hanging on the cable car), I could spot on the snow somebody familiar (click on the picture of this post to see the result). My dear Boris, I went back to Engelberg today, for skiing, but this time you were not with me. We went there together last March: you made me discover this wonderful place. It is a pity we cannot repeat the experience anymore.

God damn Risiko!

December 26, 2006

God damn Risiko! I really hate this bloody game. I don’t know if you ever played just in two, one against the other. On the game instructions is written “a game of luck and strategy”, but I really don’t see that strategy plays an important role, at least in the two players version. Read the rest of this entry »

Thank you Santa!

Here in paradise Switzerland is snowing! I can’t wait to go skiing with my almost new Nordica Dobermann PRO SRC and my new Head EZ-on boots. As my last ski equipment was at least 14 years old, you can imagine why I expect to have some new and different feelings on the snow :)

Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings

December 24, 2006

If this is the case and if for some strange reasons you want to enable Windows Firewall again, than download sharedaccess.txt, rename it sharedaccess.reg and double click it . Restart your computer, go on start>Run and write NETSH FIREWALL RESET and press enter. Now you can setup your Windows firewall again.

Sushi(t) happens!

December 24, 2006

Before enjoying the Christmas movie, we went to eat sushi in a really good restaurant. The waiters were nice, the music soft and the food wonderful. The name of this place is Yoojis. If you like sushi and you are by chance in Zürich, try it out! The only complain was about the language of the Japanese sticks, as you can see in the movie below …

Buon Natale!

Scoop of Woody Allen

December 24, 2006

Thanks Scoop! You have been our Christmas film this year. I know you’ve been out already from a month at least. I don’t know why we haven’t seen you before. The good old Woody Allen from the times of The curse of the Jade Scorpion and Manhattan murder mystery is back. If you miss it, run into a cinema or wait for the DVD.

Happy Christmas bloggers !

Christmas will arrive in three days. I whish all of you guests and friends a Merry Christmas wherever you come from. I can see from our small map that you will celebrate your holidays in the New and the Old continent, in Asia, Africa and Oceania. I have no news only from Antarctica; maybe somebody will link us soon from there too. I thank you for the nice Christmas gift we got from you all: more than 6000 contacts in 3 months, more than 70 contacts per day, and a very nice trend in the last month, as you can see in the picture. All this without showing naked women or gossiping about Hollywood stars: that’s a satisfaction for us!

Buon Natale from your beloved Lorana staff!
