1984 = 2007

The tune had been haunting [the city] for weeks past. It was one of countless similar songs published for the benefit of the proles by a sub-section of the Music Department. The words of these songs were composed without any human intervention whatever on an instrument known as a versificator. But the woman sang so tunefully as to turn the dreadful rubbish into an almost pleasant sound.

This is a fine description of present reality, don’t you think? Even if 1984 was already 23 years ago .. too many proles around at the moment, I think

Today is life … Tomorrow never comes

Some days ago Loranablog reached 100,000 thousand contacts. By the way, do you know where the name of this blog came from? At these coordinates (34°58’56.21”N – 24°45’02.60”E) I had a very nice holiday  in 2006. There, some 40 years ago a big hippie community  “lived today”, as they wrote (watch post picture and here). “Live today” doesn’t mean being lazy about the future: it is a way to push for “feeling today” and “acting today” and “being happy today”, instead of waiting for tomorrow … because tomorrow never comes.

La linea di orologi, chiamata “Linea Rom”, avra’ come testimonial Marco Ahmetovic, personaggio che ubriaco fradicio uccise quattro ragazzi alla guida del suo furgone. La legge potrebbe permettere questo scempio. Speriamo almeno in un severo giudizio del mercato.

So this is Christmas …and so what?!?

Today, the 27th of November, I noticed Christmas comes. I’ve seen all shops decorated with glittery lights and neighbor balconies climbed by hanged Santa Claus. The first thought came in my mind was: oh my God, I’ve to start the shopping craziness once more. The second thought was: oh my God, I’ve to organize Christmas with my parent families. The third thought was: oh my God, I’ve to buy a Christmas tree and I’ve to plan Christmas working dinners. The fourth thought was: stoooooooop! for a moment, at least, and think about it. What’s all this Christmas about?

It is very satisfying to meet a good friend after more than 2 years but not feeling so much time passed by. The weather has been quite nasty to us, French countryside in the weekend is as much alive as a nuked desert, but we could anyway manage to have good time together. That’s special.
