Life: a short-term reiterative module looking for the B-point

“A felicidade como a pluma Que o vento vai levando pelo ar Voa to leve Mas tem a vida breve Precisa que haja vento sem parar”

Today there have been no vento (wind) at all, and this led me, as usual, to think about my life … and yours. My life equals to my work, I tend to think more and more often. This is quite a dangerous decision, especially with a job that gives many frustrations and few, rare satisfactions – like yours, probably.

However, the rare happiness I get from my work is full, round and complete. That’s why I am still happy about it.

However, as I cannot lie in pain and sadness for the other part of my life (yes, I have a life out of work), I greedily search for other kind of happiness (”happiness modules”) around me.

A “real-happiness module” must be something:

a) difficult to reach
b) giving prolonged state of satisfactions once obtained and
c) every time regenerated in new forms.

Sadly we don’t have eternity to find what precisely can give us a never ending stock of “real-happiness modules” … at least, I didn’t find it yet. The short term we’re given should be used to reiteratively look for some type of happiness satisfying these three points.

Society today exchanged this hard to reach happiness module in something like “easy-to-buy happiness module”. Technology market, for example, gives most of the happiness to most of us. This kind of happiness mainly survives thanks to point c), pushes people to work hard/obtain-money-somehow to get ride of point a), but: don’t tell me that having an Iphone satisfies point b)!

What is your reiterative behavior in looking for alternative happiness modules? Are you anyway a shopping maniac, a collection lover, a Don Giovanni, a rich man? Is this enough for you?

Or did you find something to full satisfy point b)? Please, share with us!
