Today two surveys came out on newspapers. One, sponsored by Durex, is about sexual satisfaction around the world. The other one is about predicted economical growth in European zones. The message from combining the two surveys could suggest you the land you want to migrate to. As Italians and Greeks for sure had to show off their great lover abilities, I suggest you not to trust too much what they said Among the other lands, at a similar rate of sexual satisfactions, Russia and Poland win for the great predicted growth in 2008. Well, prepare your suitcases!
This man on the video above, Francesco Rutelli, candidate by the left Italian party to become the major of Rome, did not win the elections. Hard to believe, uh?
How many contiguous pictures can I take with an EOS 450D and a 4GB SDHC class6? Until I do fill the card? This panel above (click on it) is a selection of 31 pictures…
Sun came just in time to test my new EOS 450D. Although we reached the trekking spot around midday and the weather turned misty, I am very satisfied of this first field test. Watch the show above to get an idea of the nice day we had walking from Weesen to Betlis Wasserfallen or check some of the nicest original size pictures of today:
“I really don’t understand Italians. You know… French people didn’t really know what would have happened with Sarkozy. Now they know him and his popularity is quickly going down. But with Berlusconi…how did it happen AGAIN? It is the third time Italians elect Silvio Berlusconi. Are Italians not yet aware about him? Do Italians really think such a men can work for the good of Italy and not for the good of himself? How can Italians be so naive about Silvio Berlusconi? I love Italy and I love Italians; I go to Italy for holidays as soon as I can, every year. I just don’t understand Italians anymore.”

- The color palette is magnificent
- Menus and setup are very intuitive (I had already a EOS 300)
- Battery recharging is fast (2 hours)
- Flash dosage is accurate
- I’ve to buy a USB 2.0
I found the joy of having a reflex camera again, without the negative side effect of expensive develop in photo studios! Thank a lot Babbo (non Natale). Next week I will get also the EF 70-300mm, f/4-5.6 IS USM. It will then be hard to find time to go to work
If I were a German reading Frankfurter Allgemeine, my eyes would have focused today on the high oil prices. If I were a French reading Le Monde, today I would have been impressed by the critics moved to Sarkozy. If I were a British reading The Guardian, today I would have been shocked by the enduring teacher strike. If I were a Spanish reading El Pais, I would be worried about the rice crises. But, I am Italian. Reading today Corriere della sera, I only remember about Natalia Bush walking in the Castello Fountain in Milano. Let’s hope something will change after the V2-DAY.
.. and in particular: of ozone pollution you will die. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) informs that “exposure to ozone for less than 24 hours is probably a cause of premature mortality”. Less than 24 hours! “The oxidative stress promoted by ozone into lung tissues causes inflammation, exacerbates asthma and may also be a cause of premature death”, this is what is written on ScienceNOW today. Deadly effects are mainly observed in elderly people. For effects of prologend exposure to ozone on young people we need to wait further researches. Watch on this interactive map the ozone pollution in Europe, by chance (?) particularly concentrated in north Italy today, the 23rd of April 2008 (as shown in the post picture).
A nice meeting I recently attended reminded me the common question if plants suffer or not when eaten. What follows should be somehow interesting for the vegetarian people crowding this blog. Interestingly, today we were shown how plants can tell the difference between a wind slap and a caterpillar bite. Yes, no joke. Strong rain or wind or other abiotic events damaging the plant body will not rise the same responses caused by cows or parasites (or human beings) chewing their leaves. If we define pain as the information that something is going wrong in our body, well, plants do feel pain too when chewed.Read the rest of this entry »
