Excellent instructions you can find in the net. Now my eeePC is REALLY functional. Thanks a lot to all of you Linux guys out there!! Just follow what you find below to make out of your ASUS eeePC a functional and graphically amazing machine:
- First enable the Full Desktop option: read HERE how to do it.
- Second install GIMP and other nice free software like the UAE 
using the Synaptic package manager from the repositories you can find HERE
- If you get problems in Synaptic like those HERE, try the option FIX BROKEN PACKAGES under the menu EDIT
- Finally install BERYL and all the 3D desktop effects you want following what they say HERE (scroll the new page down until you find “installer beryl sous une xandros d’origine “)
- And if you’re really ignorant about Linux like me, read HERE to learn some console commands.
