XP SP3: should I really install it?

Yesterday I connected to Windows Update. The Express Update option gave me the possibility to install the 3rd Service Pack. I don’t know why, but I felt worried about it. I didn’t install it: the picture comes from another website. Did you do it already? Did you install it on the eeePC too? After it:
1) everything was working better than before
2) like before
3) the pc crashed.
What was your experience?

I installed SP3 on Thursday and basically it was the biggest mistake i have made,
basically it seems to of completely altered my wireless settings and a once perfect Netgear Rangemax signal constantly drops off: i’m told i am connected… to no signal… : one minute I have a ‘wpa2′ security signal, the next it is telling me its unsecured. This has all happened at the same time as Svchot.exe started taking all my CPU… Never had this b4… until SP3…………………

Ahi! I think it is better to backup the system before installing SP3, then

I installed SP3 after a full backup. Everything works…better
Login is faster, for sure. And my eeePC seems more reactive. All good, until now

With SP3 I can boot XP on my eeepc in 44 secs (for bootvis) . I have the desktop ready in 1min and 2 secs. Not bad.

I installed SP3 on my 701 - no problems at all. XP boots up in 20 sec. (from power-up to login window.) Free space on C:\ is approx. 900 MB.
