Why do we are so keen on animals behaving like humans?

A recent example: a parrot got lost in Japan and police found it. The parrot told the police his owner address, thus gaining his way back home. Another example: lions catch a young buffalo left behind by his parents and are ready to eat it. Oddly, buffalo’s parents come back to him with the whole bunch, get rid of the lions and get back their son alive (as you can see in the movie post).

Didn’t you feel a thrill reading/watching this story? But… why? Why do you like seeing animals behaving like human beings (on this thrill Walt Disney made his fortune)? Read the rest of this entry »
