399 dollars and you’ll know of what you’ll die.

September 19, 2008

Is a colorectal cancer waiting for you? Will multiple sclerosis attack you? How long psioriasis will leave your teeth in your mouth? Will a quick hearth attack wipe you out of the planet?

These are questions for sure needing answers: 399 dollars to know how probably you’ll pass away.

Even better: 399 dollars to leave you in fear for the rest of your life, after the cheap genome test offered to you by 123andme.

Exciting, isn’t it? Even more exciting for pharma industries, as they can give you pills BEFORE you get sick. Even more exciting for psychologists: you’ll need one for sure, knowing you’ve more than 50% of probability of dying of a painful stomach cancer. Even more exciting for gravediggers: how many of you, tested people, will not find the guts to go on with this already difficult life?

If you really don’t know how to spend your 399 dollars, give them to some people in need.

“Being Republican” is a genetic trait associated with “being coward” ..

.. giving “coward” the meaning of “easily feeling fear”. Finally a scientific proof about what could be already suspected: being conservative / republican / right winged is

1) genetic

2) associated with high sensitivity to dangerous situations.

In poor words: if you feel often “under attack” from what happens around you, you’re most probably republican. I think the best example of coward republicans is given by the guys associated to the American National Rifle Association (NRA): people who can feel safe only with a gun (sorry.. I meant with many guns) under their pillows.

This is not a communist delirium: it is just the result coming out of this experiment discussed on Science. Fear was measured by skin conductivity and eye blinks: the more you fear, the more you sweat and the more you blink. Republicans sweated and blinked more than democrats if put in front of bloody and alarming pictures. Hopefully we will not get another coward representing US citizens for the next years ;)
