James Cameron’s AVATAR is the Zeitgeist 2009/2010

Maybe because it is the first movie I watched in 3D. Maybe because the script reminded me that wonderful computer game called “The Longest Journey”. Maybe because the moon of Pandora has such a marvelous landscape only the wildest fantasy could dream about. Maybe because this movie is tremendously actual: ecological destruction; war for oil, pardon, for energy sources; the concept of preventive war. Maybe because marines are finally depicted for what they are, in contrary to famous serials like BSG. Maybe because Cameron waited 10 years for directing this movie to avoid paying 400 million dollars for the special effects. Maybe because so many Sci-Fi concepts are so well mixed and presented in this wonderful movie.

Maybe because of all this, AVATAR took a special place in my list of best Sci-Fi movies ever. Last but not least, thanks James Cameron for not having split this very long movie in 2 or 3 episodes.

The (Muslim?) terrorist on the plane

Not all terrorists are Muslims, not all Muslims are terrorists. Who wants to organize special flights for Muslims to “avoid” terrorism acts on airplanes knows it would not work.

1) How do you tell who is Muslim and who is not at the check in? Do you offer a pork bratwurst?
2) How do you isolate not Muslim terrorists? Do you ask them if they want to blow up the airplane?
3) Do you think a plane filled up with Muslims is safer than a mixed one?

Milano sotto la neve: il make up piu’ bello.

Milano mi manca raramente. Logico, mi puo’ mancare famiglia e amici. Ma la citta’ in se’, no. Incasinata, sporca, stressata, aggressiva, fredda. Milano non e’ la citta’ piu’ accogliente al mondo, malgrado la Sindaca si imbrodi spesso con questa affermazione. Pero’ pero’ … a vedere le foto di Milano imbiancata dalla neve monta un grande nostalgia.

Perche’ a Milano, con la neve, tutti i rumori scompaiono. Perche’ a Milano, con la neve, le persone, e non le macchine, si muovono e prendono possesso della citta’.Perche’ Milano con la neve guadagna l’aria di montagna.

Perche’ Milano con la neve diventa
bianca
e pura
e bella come il suo Duomo …
… e come non si fa ad amare il Duomo di Milano?
