Suona un po’ come la povera Didone, abbandonata da Enea, quando lancio’ le sue maledizioni prima di conficcarsi un coltello in ventre… il tempo di Silvio e’ finito, speriamo che i suoi successori non siano peggiori!

3TB Hard Drives: Intel and Asus are not ready yet

Western Digital and Hitachi produce hard drives with capacity of 3TB (terabyte).
Today I’ve tried to install two 3TB hard drivers in a RAID 1 array (mirroring) using my Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard (based on the Intel X58 chip).
To do this it’s important to configure the RAID array in the BIOS.
Well … I’ve found that I can only use 746,5GB of the 3000GB available!!!
Surfing the web I’ve found that this is a known bug present in almost every motherboard BIOS.

A Repubblica si ha “l’Ehec” nell’intestino e si mangiano feci dei ruminanti???

Come sempre Repubblica non delude quando si tratta di dare notizie sc(i)entifiche. Ieri Adele Sarno ci delizia con questa frase:

“Il batterio responsabile si chiama Ehec, meglio noto con il nome di Escherichia coli, si diffonde prevalentemente attraverso le feci dei ruminanti“

E io che pensavo di avere TRILIARDI di Escherichia coli nell’intestino da quando sono nato! Come avro’ fatto a sopravvivere? E poi, ho davvero mangiato le feci dei ruminanti??? Possibile che il retrogusto non mi abbia allarmato?

Ehec NON e’ “meglio noto come Escherichia coli”, e’ un ceppo (!) di Escherichia Coli che si chiama Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli.

Un po’ come dire che NON tutti i “Bush” sono s…i come i famosi GW&padre. Santa ignoranza!

Mittelalter-Spectaculum 2011 in Fraumünster Platz

Fill up a central square of Zurich with middle-age costumes, blacksmiths, carpenters, musicians, acrobats, delicious food and traditional beer: this is the Mittelalter-Spectaculum.

Today we had a very good time by Fraumünster Platz: watch our pictures and do not miss the 2012 edition!

A perfect farewell party.

- Sunny weather and warm night
- Open air on a huge terrace
- 70% of the participants coming from Venus
- Lovely gifts and friendly smiles
- Delicious home made food (mostly Russian, thanks wife!)
- Tons of ethanol
- a zombie like day-after (I woke up in a flat that was not mine..)

… and last but not least, all such honours shared with a very good colleague friend
