Blogging and the art of propaganda

December 27, 2011

It is five days I am sick at home. I had most of my Xmas holidays in my bed, with fever, sore throat and headache. That’s a pitiful ending of a very stressful month at work. Would you have ever thought about it after watching these wonderful, family like, smiling pictures of our Christmas dinner?

Happy holidays, lucky healthy people. And thanks to my wife for not giving everything up to my horrible mood ;)

Formigoni e Regione Lombardia ladri di bollo auto

December 25, 2011

Cosa succederebbe a un normale cittadino se rubasse 300 euro di prodotti al supermercato? O 300 euro dalla borsetta di una malcapitata signora? Andrebbe in galera, suppongo.

Formigoni e’ forse in galera? No, fa ancora il caffe’ – ma non ha il coraggio di lasciar scrivere commenti a nessuno dei suoi clip, chissa’ perche’.

Merry Christmas, Jesus followers and idealist people!

December 23, 2011

This year it was even harder finding any relation between Jesus and Christmas. I am not a Catholic extremist at all and for sure not a Church fan, but I find somehow odd connecting Christmas only to sexy red lingerie, hot wine and bratwurst, power shopping and sales, ginger cookies and panettone, skiing holidays, colourful lights and Santas hanging from balconies.

I do not care if the 25th of December is a fake date and if Jesus existed for real or not.

I find, however, this Christian tradition a good moment to give a break to our frenetic lives and think about that person named Jesus, what he is told he did , what he is told he said, and how this world would be if people followed his word for real.

Therefore, in these long dark evenings, we like building our nativity stage once more and imagine to live that moment for real.

Merry Christmas, Jesus followers and idealist people! And Happy-Winter-White-Season-Break Holidays to everybody ;)

PS

Although everyday is a good day for good deeds, better once per year than never. Here are some good ideas!

Swiss green cats are snow proof!

December 23, 2011

Last week temperatures quickly dropped and snow covered houses, roads… and cats run wild, like “our” green cat. He adapted to the new season by staying overnight (!) in our flat. It is quite annoying being waken up at 4am (!) by a cat knocking (!) on the windows, purring around our bed like a shark with its pray and finally jumping on it (and on us), but what can we do ;) ?

Merry Christmas green free cat, stay away from shooting weapons and let’s hope to see you alive also next year!

Bloody biofuel produced in Africa

December 22, 2011

I know people still crying nowadays for native Americans, deprived of their lands by European pioneers. The very same happens now in Niger, Mozambique, Tanzania and many others, where tribes are stolen of their lands by European, American and Asian companies for biofuel production.

It seems natives become good for movies and books only after their extinction. Now we need their land, so they can silently and quickly face extinction. Next time you tank your car with carbon neutral biofuel, think thankfully to the African farmer died of hunger for us.

Gadjo Michto: beauty playing in the streets of Strasbourg

December 21, 2011

I easily get bewitched by women playing musical instruments. If the girl playing is also cute, good and French (!), then I am totally overwhelmed … ouch, Stasia! Stop beating me, I will pay you a course of violin :D

This was the case in the streets of Strasbourg last week-end. While lost (with Stasia) in the Christmas labyrinth of the city, we heard a gipsy-like music coming to us. To our surprise it was a 100% Alsace music band wonderfully playing cord instruments and accordion and singing in Slobanjo. The language, I was explained by a friend of the group, spoken in Slobanja, of course :)

Don’t miss the Gadjo Michto when you visit Strasbourg, and pay a visit to their website: www.myspace.com/gadjomichto

And don’t miss my wonderful night pictures of this concert HERE

Mucosolvan: advertising science good for Mickey Mouse

December 21, 2011

In the post picture are two lungs from Mucosolvan advertisement, now on, for example, in corriere.it
Please notice the two lungs, represented like two glass empty balloons. The yellow mucous pointed by arrows, represented like “schleim monsters” (!) in the German ad, is here climbing up the “empty space in lungs” to finally disappear.

Now please, describe anatomically these “empty lungs”: are they tumoral or what? If I were the Pharma producing Mucosan, I would change the art department :D

Sale Christmas by Aberzombie and Fitch

December 20, 2011

It’s a pity this video is only in Italian
. Nevertheless, the same story is probably happening all around the world. A new winter collection is born – it’s Abercrombie but could be anything else – and the holy star of sales guides sheeps and shepherds, kings and families to gift their gold to the shop. Stupid kids for stupid mothers and fathers, queuing for shirts and trousers and spending “what we could save in one year”. Old mothers and fathers flirting with shop models, proud of their daughters shooting pictures with the new gods. Entire families organizing tours and buses from far distant towns to visit the new born jeans, the last shirt, the ultimate bag.

It is clear this society will have short life. People at the moment are extremely too weak to create anything new, they are mostly consumers spending the money accumulated with boring jobs: shopping is the only excitement they have. They will be removed by meteorites, or more aggressive religions or whatever. Who will bring human development forward is a question I prefer not to think about.

Strasbourg, capitale de Noël: APPROVED by Loranablog

December 18, 2011

So much we read and heard this year about Strasbourg being THE capital of Christmas, that we chose to pay a visit to it!

Guided by the native M. – a friend of us knowing each corner of the city – we had two enchanting days in the streets of Strasbourg. Indeed, we found a whole city ready to celebrate Christmas, but also delicious Alsace food (you must try baeckeoffe!), pretty men (at lest this is what girls said), gipsy musics and kind people.

Look it by yourself, watching this Lorana report on Alsace Christmas in Strasbourg!

The loneliness of human beings and the polite bear waving hello

December 16, 2011

It’s understandable the incredible audience this movie got on youtube. The human behaviour of that big bear is very funny, but there’s more. That bear make us feeling we could have a key to interact with other Earthlings than humans.

How bears and other animals, not biased by money, religion, career, traffic jams, Christmas shopping and so on do drive their lives? Do they have just priorities like “food”, “mating”, “find a shelter” or is there something more?

It’s a pity that bear is not really communicating with us, but just repeating the gestures of the tourists passing by on their cars. I would be really curious to know his point of view on life, as often human ideas on life are simply boring.
