A book, a movie or “The Witcher” game?

February 19, 2012

I have been quite a nerd in the last month, playing compulsively with “The Witcher“. I was so in it that once my wife asked me for fruits after dinner I replied “… good idea, I have to drag the cow to Dagon” …

Better than a passive movie, better than an active book, the Witcher game surprised me with its script style. Choices made during the game will dramatically affect the events. It is difficult to have the same experience with books or films. Well, now I am ready for The Witcher 2, which incidentally came out just last year.

Mittelalter-Spectaculum 2011 in Fraumünster Platz

May 22, 2011

Fill up a central square of Zurich with middle-age costumes, blacksmiths, carpenters, musicians, acrobats, delicious food and traditional beer: this is the Mittelalter-Spectaculum.

Today we had a very good time by Fraumünster Platz: watch our pictures and do not miss the 2012 edition!

Plan your time properly…

… and try to have some fun in between, because, whatever you prefer, at the end that’s it.

Amazing Metro 2033: best PC game I ever played!

February 20, 2011

1. It is not only a first person shooter … it is an adventure too: there are several actions to perform in addition to shooting
2. It is an incredibly catching story (I would like to read the book now)
3. It has super graphics and more than realistic environments and it played totally smooth on my PC with settings at their best
4. It is in Russian with English subtitles and Russian voices are wonderfully acted
5. There are tons of weapons to choose from… and tons of monsters and humans to shoot at
6. It has spectacular moments in action with amazing camera views and quick choices to be taken
7. It has totally different strategies when playing alone or in squads
8. Your choice to shoot or not: you can survive even without ammo in some situations, just sneak and run
9. You have to search constantly for ammo thus pushing you to explore the full environment
10. The end is totally satisfactory after so many hours passed playing it – although I was surprised I was not automatically moved to the last chapter (ethereal) which I found more or less by chance.
11. There are even two alternative ends, it’s all on you to decide for which one.

What do you need more? Buy it buy it! Be sure having  a good PC to run it.

P.S. Thanks Mark for suggesting this game to me!

Best (paper) flight simulator on line

January 27, 2011

Do you remember those days at the balcony, or at school, building the best paper plane for the longest flights ever? Right paper, innovative folding and test flight … out of the window. Now you can bring back the same feelings with this wonderful paper flight simulator on your monitor!

Metro 2033 vs. other first-person shooters: the human factor.

September 26, 2010

Probably I am biased and not enough experienced. I find Metro 2033 a step higher compare to “usual” first-person shooters. While playing it, you can notice Metro 2033 is based on a sci-fi book – a feeling missing with other known similar games. In Metro 2033 I feel I play a human being, not a marine or whatever. And this makes this Ukraine production very appealing.

Prince of Persia

June 28, 2010

I read so many bad reviews on Prince of Persia it took a while to buy it. I really like to play it because:

- GFX are far better than the original one
- It is easy …

… but especially because it makes my CPU fan speed running at max speed ;) Sooo geeky!

The zombie Michael Jackson on world tour.

February 11, 2010

This is a crazy game I suggest you to play at least until MJ comes out :)   “Infect the world” with the help of MJ zombie: his moon walk will kill them all!

Lern to toss the turtle, learn to cope with life

tosstheturtle

Even if this title sounds probably a mouthful to you, give a try to this incredibly addictive flash game online. Try to beat my (incredible?) record of more than 200,426 feet and find the deep meaning behind the game. Then, write it with your record on the blog.

Ragnar Tornquist, how could you do it?

August 23, 2009

I played the most wonderful adventure written for a computer game one year ago. The Longest Journey has been the most captivating game adventure I ever lived.  I finished 2 minutes ago to play DreamFall-The Longest Journey, the so called 2nd episode of The Longest Journey you released in 2006.

“Finished to play” is quite ironic, as you sent to almost death, death penalty or true death most of the good characters … but the story itself is not finished at all!!! We are in 2009 now. Two-thousand-and-nine!!! What the hell are you waiting for to release the 3rd episode? For the Balance, how could you be so cruel? What are those rumors about Dreamfall chapters??? When will you publish them? Stop now reading Stephen King’s book on your Kindle. Time to write has come!
