Do you remember the last time you found police useful?

June 21, 2008

Let me think.

In Italy:

- Police arrived after 2 hours (!) we had an accident: we had to stay 2 hours on the lane.
- I got a fee because I parked where was forbidden
- I got a fee because I entered a traffic restricted zone (I didn’t see the signal)
- One police jeep bumped in the rear of my car and broke the rear lights Read the rest of this entry »

What are 25 dollars good for?

June 20, 2008

Kiva - loans that change lives

A cheap lunch. A mobile phone recharge. Four ice creams. Or:

- The fabrics Jacopo (Ecuador) and Cissy (Uganda) and Victoria (Bolivia) needed
- The poultry Samuel (Uganda) desired
- The calves Fortunata (Peru) and Nazokat (Tajikistan) whished
- The timber Hadijah (Uganda) required

All of them gave me back the money I lent them. What are now 175 dollars good for? Just give a look on Kiva :) !

Kiva pays back twice

April 10, 2008

Nazokat Vahobova (Tajikistan) bought new cattle and paid me back. Jacobo Bermúdez (Ecuador) bought new rolls of fabric to make bedspreads and paid me back. Kiva pays back twice: with money and with satisfactions. Why don’t you lend something too?

Kiva pays back!

September 24, 2007

I am probably overexcited for this first small result. The guy we gave 50$ to buy more glass for his job already started to give money back (4.18$, as you can read), just one month after he got the amount he needed from the micro credit bank. I will keep you informed about all the others. And you? Did you find some time to give a try to Kiva?

Ok, we did it. Our first money goes to help this guy in need to buy glass to sell windows. I cannot imagine living in a house without windows! Click HERE to see who is the guy. And click on the KIVA logo on the side to give a look to other projects!
