To me, being older than 30, they look like good looking women making money showing boobs and assess (and – some – talent of course) – striking examples of emancipated women of the new century Were the MTV awards sponsored by Victoria’s secrets?

Fascinating Tracy Chapman at Moon and Stars 2009 in Locarno

Actually, our main reason to go to Locarno was Tracy Chapman in concert. Being Tracy Chapman one of the few singer I discovered by myself many years ago (no girlfriends, friends or relatives forced me to listen to her), I was very impatient to see her live. It has been a wonderful concert, of course. The primordial energy she could radiate, together with touchy rhythms and some words to the public, made the experience very magic. I had my 300mm mounted on my D450: the security didn’t believe me , when I said I had it by chance hidden under pullovers and beach towels in my bag, and my camera got confiscated at the entrance We were in the third row, a few meters far from her for all the concert: Ipods and small cameras made the joy of other fans…

Nevertheless, I could take a picture of us in Piazza Grande, after the concert, and look (!!!) who was by chance in the picture playing guitar – click on the post picture to zoom in.

I was in Chicago, some years ago, exactly when MJ 2005 trial ended with full absolution for him. I remember every US newspaper giving the news with huge bold titles. I remember people on the streets showing their joy for the happy end of that sad and fake story. I wonder how it is now  …

Ho incontrato Ivan della Mea, ma non l’ ho mai conosciuto. Avevo 6 anni: ricordo una sua intervista (penso) per l’ Unita’ sul tema scuola e una bandiera rossa la trionfera’ urlata al parco – senza neppure capire bene cosa volesse dire, almeno nel mio caso. Se l’ avessi re-incontrato piu’ tardi, l’avrei tanto apprezzato quanto sto cercando di recuperare la conoscenza perduta via testi e musica in internet. Cordoglio alla famiglia, e come ben dice Maria, “per tutti quelli che hanno il comunismo nel cuore, è una grave perdita che si aggiunge purtroppo a molte altre, reali e simboliche….”
