Dear Bunny Bunny worshipers, dear Bunny Bunny lovers: my personal best congratulations for year 2012. We made it! Cities are filled with pictures, statues, chocolate puppets with the shape of our beloved Bunny Bunny. Bunny Bunny is everywhere, searching for Easter eggs in gardens, printed on shopping bags and inside every hearth of kids and grownups.
In 2012 we managed to completely erase that old and somehow sad image of that poor man bleeding from the cross, crowned with spikes, tortured by laughing Roman soldiers. We never understood why God worshipers used such a cruel image for two thousand years, we never appreciated Mel Gibson directing such a sadist movie like The Passion, we never liked to praise a suffering being in such a colorful and happy time like Spring!
We thank our beloved friends, the Shopping Bag worshipers, for having helped us in erasing the power of God already during the so called “Christmas time”. Although still some job has to be done, as baby Jesuses and angels for Christmas are far from being forgotten, we believe that in a couple of years mighty pre-Xmas sales and Santa, best-buyer ever, will take 100% of the market and of human minds.
Maybe, but I am not willing to bet on it. That’s why I appreciate films like “Young Adult” or “We need to talk about Kevin“. New points of view are always welcome on such society taboos. I feel that sometimes private frustration and public satisfaction for the “blessing” are compulsory, otherwise blame from relatives, priests, friends, colleagues and God himself will hit home like the black plague.
I wonder if other civilizations have opinions on newborns less connected to religion, destiny, pride, virility, tradition, poverty, duty, possession, eternity, frustration, redemption, emulation, boredom, exhibitionism … love would be probably enough.
Nei periodi oscurantisti la Chiesa Romana Cattolica taglio’ peni, copri’ seni e dipinse pubi a calce in nome di una pruriginosa superiorita’ morale. Cosi’ oggi il gruppo Gherush92 denuncia l’antisemitismo e razzismo di Dante. Gherush92 chiede:

Trovo da miserabili scagliarsi contro un’opera d’arte di cosi’ alto valore per un paio di passaggi altamente critici contro musulmani, sodomiti, Giuda e Sinedrio che mando’ a morte Gesu’ Cristo. A quei tempi i musulmani impalavano i cristiani e viceversa.I sodomiti non sono visti di buon occhio ancora oggi dalla Chiesta cattolica e Sodoma e Gomorra non e’ invenzione del sommo poeta. Infine, la storia (che puo’ essere vera o no) racconta che Gesu’ fu condannato dal Sinedrio e tradito da Giuda.
Dove sta quindi lo scandalo? Qualcuno oggi usa forse la Divina Commedia come libello fascistoide e manifesto contro gli ebrei, i gay e i musulmani??? Davvero Dante e’ ispiratore della Shoah? Trovo molto piu’ scandaloso che che le N.U. paghino chi pubblica ricerche sul fatto che lo zucchero non sia kasher
Kid taboo are parents. They are true, nobody can criticize them, or it will finish with kicks and punches. Parents are Gods.
Teenager taboo is sex. Teenagers live for and die for sex. They fight, they imitate, they violate, they love… and also have fun. Most of them. Sex is God.
Young adult taboo is job. Whatever long studies can be, job is the first step for future indipendence. Missing jobs, bad jobs, good jobs: long lasting frustrations for short happiness. Job is God.
Middle aged adult taboo are kids. Some love kids, some ignore kids, some hate kids. God is with you when you have kids, mum and daddy too. Parents, Sex, Kids: the circle closes. Job or missing job helps it. Try saying you do not like kids at such age and be ready to be banned from society.
Old people taboo is health. Old people fight and live and die for health. And pray God for having it.
So, tell me your taboo and I will guess your true age.

I have heard this sentence several times in my life. The Truth, not just the truth, was always in other hands.
First time was the priest of a Christian Catholic Church. All Catholic believers share the only, eternal Truth and therefore should gift it to others. Somehow his words did not convince me enough to start making proselytes.
Second time were Jehovah’s Witnesses. They asked me if I wanted to become friend of Jesus Christ the Savior, as He is the only Truth. They gifted me with books on Jesus’ life to learn about him … and I thought the New Testament was the only book about Him.
Third time was a Muslim guy. He clearly explained me that only Islam is the Truth and that my only salvation on Earth and in afterlife is to convert to Islam, otherwise death or slavery or eternal perdition will be my fate. I hope he is wrong.
Fourth time was a German atheist. He showed me that the Truth is science, or at maximum a flying spaghetti monster. I told that I feel less psycho eating spaghetti with meat balls and praying a super being than vice versa
Fifth time were Christian Orthodox. They told me about the Orthodox Truth, they suggested me conversion to the only true religion and finally talked about miracles to all who converted to it. I am scared I will miss some miracles in my life.
This year it was even harder finding any relation between Jesus and Christmas. I am not a Catholic extremist at all and for sure not a Church fan, but I find somehow odd connecting Christmas only to sexy red lingerie, hot wine and bratwurst, power shopping and sales, ginger cookies and panettone, skiing holidays, colourful lights and Santas hanging from balconies.
I do not care if the 25th of December is a fake date and if Jesus existed for real or not.
I find, however, this Christian tradition a good moment to give a break to our frenetic lives and think about that person named Jesus, what he is told he did , what he is told he said, and how this world would be if people followed his word for real.
Therefore, in these long dark evenings, we like building our nativity stage once more and imagine to live that moment for real.

I had to go to the supermarket tonight, the 31st of October. And what did I find close to the last pumpkins I needed to buy – not because of retarded Halloween, I have to cook a soup – ? Santa Clauses, red and white sexy mannequins, golden stars hanging from the ceilings, plastic snow, reindeers with red noses, smelly candles, pieces of pine trees and polystyrene snow men …
I am SICK of this kind of Christmas, God damn it! Am I the only one feeling sick at such view? If a movement like the one “freeing garden dwarfs” will start burning down all these stupid Christmas dolls and decorations I will join it!
