About religions and bacteria: democracy should be better applied in Europe.

Politically speaking, Europe believes in democracy. Elections are the tool used to decide who the majority wants. The minority loses its right to be represented, but it is not wiped out of the planet face. For sure, the minority has less power in taking decisions affecting the entire population. I do not understand why this democratic principle cannot be applied to religion. If the majority in a country is Catholic, what is the meaning to remove Christian religious symbols from public places? On the contrary, there is place even for other symbols.

There can be integration and sharing of common goals only by respect of different tradition and cultures – not by making tabula rasa of all of them. It is like when a house floor gets cleaned with anti-bacterial agents: as soon as it is perfectly cleaned, the strongest bacteria, resistant to the agent, will take the entire place over. Let’s wipe out Christianity from European public places: some stronger religion will come in. And we will have no agents to get rid of it. Atheists, who constantly fight against something they don’t believe in (!) are still the minority, or am I wrong?

The age of stupid: somebody should start jumping off the cliff

October 20, 2009

Stupid seem to be a fair amount of our population: even a movie was made on them. I can trust this movie as I also meet stupid quite often on my blog. They usually write things like Mother Nature love us, God created this planet as perfect, we are the Chosen ones we have not to worry, the ones having a shitty life deserve it and so on.

If this link still works, watch the Age of stupid. Better, rent it. Fairly enough, this movie is not a catastrophic sci-fi: it is a documentary on past and present situations. Make this movie watched: maybe after it less people will care about their own square of sand while the tsunami approaches..

On the way to be converted to Islam while flying to Netherland…

September 24, 2009

… without having asked for it. Actually, it was my fault: a Muslim looking guy alone on the plane seat aside me plus my curiosity to exchange a few words with him (as the plane had been delayed for 4 hours, I needed to talk to somebody during the 2 hours long flight).

We started complaining about the flight delay, but we quickly switched from small chat to the experiences of a Muslim living in Europe. Mistrust from the neighborhood, mistrust at the working place, difficulties to find appropriate food and to respect religious traditions… and exactly here my personal 2 hours long nightmare started, here, when he started to talk about religion.

One world, one God: the absurdity of multiple religions – the power of belief as revelation

September 21, 2009

I don’t like how people react when I say I believe in God. Nowadays it is difficult to pronounce the words “I believe in God”. God is immediately associated to church and to crimes committed by it and its followers. To my opinion, God has very little to do with religion and church. By the way: you are free to deny God existence and you are free to believe no Creator exists. However, many other people think the opposite, so you have to cope with them – as they quite influence the life of everybody else. Read the rest of this entry »

Are people lives expendable to maintain the American empire?

September 15, 2009

The questions raised in this documentary are urgent. Are the lives and dreams of the ordinary people from Chile, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Iraq, Iran, Palestine expendable, to keep our society safe as they want us to believe?

Is the alternative to the American empire really as dreadful as they tell us since the end of the Second World War? Is American way of life bullshit or dream?

We will never know it, because we can experience alternatives. But this documentary let us stop for a moment and think, if really life are expendable for the national safety of the most powerful nation: the United States of America.

Great job from John Pilger.

Are people lives expendable to maintain the American empire?

I have friends from Chile: I would like to know what they think about this.

Pres.

Do Russians appreciate Vladimir Putin shows?

August 5, 2009

Many Italians appreciate Berlusconi’s miserable adventures. I am not among them. I believe being the President of a country and the chef of a catholic conservative party is not at all compatible with having sex with prostitutes, organizing “family days” to promote family values, defending the position of the Vatican in the Parliament, owning television channels and having a lot of influence on public channels and other media. Promoting prostitutes and television girls to the Italian and European Parliament should not be among the duties of a President. Although Berlusconi acts like just an old sad pimp (in Italy he was defined being only the “final user” – of the prostitute – by his lawyers …), people like me will have to wait for his natural departure before getting rid of him, as he gets elected “democratically”.

What about Putin? How do Russians think about Vladimir? He is famous (abroad) for shooting tigers (thus saving unfortunate cameramen), diving to the bottom of the Baikal Lake (he was luckier than the soldiers left to die in the North Sea) and showing his sculptured body in the nature. Do Russians appreciate his showing off?

The power of Brüno is …

July 23, 2009

… the ability to make fun of every credo, every tradition, everything that erects dull fences between people. When stupidity-masked-morality is imposed and followed to tell who is wrong and who is right, Bruno and Borat come to tear down everything with their brilliant and acid sarcasm. Viva Sacha Baron Cohen!

Silvio Berlusconi, le amiche e le zoccole (pardon, escorts).

berlusconiredidenari2

Ma Silvio chi? Silvio, quello del family day?
