How to censure annoying Italian journalists

Do you really know what’s happening to freedom of speech in Italy? Famous or unknown journalists are blamed for slander because reporting (just reporting!) news collected on previously published books/newspapers. Politicians elected this may 2008 in Italy cited Marco Travaglio and Antonino Monteleone because reporting on television or internet annoying news.

Mr. Giuseppe Galati (ex Christian Democrats, now with Berlusconi) cited Antonino Monteleone because the blogger reported of cocaine scandals Galati was accused to be involved (as emerged, as Antonimo Monteleone cites, from the Preliminary Investigation Judge’s documentation submitted to the Rome Court [saying that] none other than the Honourable Galati was an habitual cocaine user, which was supplied to him from within the Ministry for Productive Activities, of which he was undersecretary).

Mr. Renato Schifani (President of the Italian Senate, also belonging to Berlusconi party) cited Marco Travaglio because the journalist read a book on television on possible (just possible!) connections Schifani had in the past with people belonging to mafia.

Television: the ultimate contraception

When I moved to Switzerland I’ve been without internet for 2 months. Having no television, you can read a book at evening, but having a partner your imagination can fly higher When I read that in Barcelona, 9 months after the famous almost-1-week-long blackout, hospitals register 7% more newborns in comparison to the same period last year, I was not surprised. Television (or internet) is the most powerful contraceptive ever invented. Instead of debating about condoms being not accepted by Vatican or baby pills causing cancer, a solution to reduce the world population to acceptable number is: ONE TELEVISION (AT LEAST) FOR EACH HUMAN BEING.

Why did this happen to Rome?

This man on the video above, Francesco Rutelli, candidate by the left Italian party to become the major of Rome, did not win the elections. Hard to believe, uh?

Deutschland sucht den Superstar: a sick and disgusting freak show

Saturday night we had by chance the possibility to watch what’s on television (we don’t have it at home). 50% sitcoms, 20% quiz shows and 30% reality shows. Among those, we were quite unlucky to stop on RTL’s “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (the German version of Pop Idol).
